Lone Pine Hotel Penang

Lone Pine is a luxury 5 star boutique hotel, nicely hidden away along the Penang Island Coastline. It has been painstakingly restored to its 1950′s splendor and colonial theme. This has remained one of Penang’s most popular hotels with foreign and local guest over the years. It remains as one of the few hotels that is able to combine a very personalised service and traditional charm.

Our stay at Lone Pine was a relaxing experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in Premier Garden Room which is on the ground floor and very convenient, with large shutters that opened up to a great view.Location was good(right on the beach) and close to night markets and food, although the hawker food in Ferringhi was a very small selection and quite westernised so we got a cab to Gerney drive where the food was so much better and the selection huge. That was probably my only negative about Ferringhi beach, the choice of food was minimal and catered to western palates. I would definately stay at Lone Pine again as It is much smaller than other hotels in the Area which I prefer

From the wonderful welcome by the young Italian management member of staff to the gorgeous rooms, this is the one to stay at. Right on the beach, good food, luxury rooms with fabulous balcony bath and stunning updated decor. Great staff, good food. Quick service, and free yummy boxes of cakes each night. What more could you ask for?
Yes, there are bigger hotels but THIS is the best, by far. Thank you, Lone Pine.

We stayed here for 4 nights after 3 nights at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel. We had a very spacious double room. Breakfast was the only thing that could be improved, there was a fair amount of Asian food. The quality of the food was ok but we felt not to a five star standard, on the first day the fresh juice bar was operational but the following three days it was not. Pool was great but lacked proper attention from the staff, we seemed to need to go look for them when we needed a drink. Batu Bar had some interesting entertainment in the evening with DJs and Steel Pan Player. Overall we will still be happy to come back here again.

Perfect from check in to check out. If you are looking for personalised service in a boutique five star beach hotel in Penang Malaysia, this is probably the best choice you will make. Your family will thank you for it. The location enables you to do as much as you like or as little as you want. Ideal for families with children as the hotel provides a very safe and secure environment. The limited number of rooms ensures the place is never too busy even during peak periods. Could do with some live acoustic music nightly to liven up the ultra modern lounge and the resort as a whole.

Very Clean Beach, ideal location for water sports as there is a friendly, independent water sports company/provider just outside the hotel compound. Look for a chap (beach boy) called Baskaran, who is very accommodating with kids, speaks English and takes time to explain the do’s and dont’s and to give you the required confidence with the related activities.
