A special cultural heritage showcase & celebration of creative work by young people. Come witness how they have explored, investigated, researched and expressed their understanding and thoughts about the cultural heritage of George Town.
The highlight of the showcase exhibition will be the creative work of 80 youth, aged 13-17, who worked with artist facilitators in a week-long arts camp, featuring cultural assets of Chowrasta Market:
(i) Photo flipbooks about the value chain of a fish dish (from sea to market to plate)
(ii) Lino prints on the jeruk traditional trade in the market
(iii) Illustrations of market vendors’ ergonomics (showing safety, comfort and efficiency)
(iv) Music and sound performances inspired by sounds from the market.
