Road to Penang Jazz Festival 2010

Join a night with Natasha Patamapongs on Saturday, 3rd April 2010 at the g Spot. Natasha is a US-born young jazz singer from Bangkok, Thailand.

She is the lead singer, producer, and band leader of Mellow Motif. She has been fronting the Thailand-based jazz band and getting their name on to CNN Asia’s Hot List “Top 20 People to Watch”.

Her signature crystal clear voice with a warm and soothing tone has enabled her to transcend esoteric jazz audiences and reach crossover mainstream appeal.

Natasha is a truly gifted interpreter of jazz standards, and her unique delivery of the music will sure to make your listening experience a wonderfully pleasant one.

Joining on stage Malaysia’s most sought after Jazz Musicians. Wilson Quah on the Piano- Gary Joseph Gideon on the Drums- Abd. Mutallib. Percussions and Jonathan Chen on the Bass.

An Evening with Michelle Nicole. Recipient of the Australian Entertainment industry’s Mo Award – Jazz Vocalist of the year for 2001, 2003 & 2004, Michelle Nicolle is a lady who is at ease at clever, difficult and varied improvisations in a style that is truly her own.

Her supporting Trio consists of some of Australia’s top jazz musicians – Geoff Hughes (Guitar), Tom Lee (Double Bass) and Ronny Ferella (Drums).

Lisa has been performing in musical theatre, shows and TV from a young age. She studied Creative Music Technology at Brunel University and Musical Theatre at Pretoria Technikon in studio production, music business, composition, and performance.

Lisa will be performing in G Spot G Hotel Penang from November 2009 to January 2010.

Lisa plays in originals/covers; session vocalist; voice-over artist; songwriter; vocal and performance training and hosting the 15 Minute Club to promote artists. An artist to keep your eyes on…

In conjunction  with the Penang Island Jazz Festival 2009, g Spot, Penang’s leading jazz bar is celebrating ahead with COUNTDOWN to Penang Island Jazz Festival 09 on SUNDAY, 1^st &15^th November2009.

 

The COUNTDOWN will feature performances by six groups, each with their own unique style and brand of music: Tapa and Friends, Adil Johan Quartet and Dasha, Ocean of Fire, De Leon Jazz Experience, Spunk Unit and Georgetown Singers
