A group of 20 recently married couples from Guangzhou China will be spending their honeymoon here from 7th of January to 9th of January 2012.

The trip is organized by the 2nd largest newspaper in Guangdong, China and partially sponsored by Tourism Malaysia. The couples will be visiting Khoo Kongsi, Peranakan Mansion, Penang Hill, Batu Feringghi and other interesting sites around Penang, accompanied by media from China. They will also be involved in various photo-shoots, with Penang as their backdrop.

Penang’s beautiful heritage, world famous cuisines and unique multiculturalism has become an attraction for honeymooners from all the over the world.

Apart from that, Penang also has a variety of reasonably-priced luxury hotels located both in George Town and by the beach. The cultural experience of Penang can create long lasting memories for couples on their holiday.

The group’s adventures in Penang will be published in the local Guangzhou media.

If you are planning to end the year 2011 with a bang, bring your family and friends to the Penang Golden 2012 on the 31st of December 2011 at the Padang Esplanade.

The celebrations will start with a Superbike Heritage Ride of over 100 BMW and Harley’s Bikers from Thailand, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor Bahru and Singapore.

The convoy will be flagged off by Seberang Prai Municipal Council president Maimunah Mohd Shariff at Batu Kawan at 1.00 pm. Among the hot models coming are the BMW GS 1200, BMW GS 1200 Adventure and KTM SMT990, The convoy will be stopping at Suffolk House, Komtar, Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, George Town World Heritage Incorporated (GTWHI) office, Fort Cornwallis and City Hall. The convoy is expected to reach the Esplanade at 6.00 pm.

Next is a Street Dance Competition at 2.30pm. The competitions aims to provide an environment where young people can communicate, socialize, gain valuable experience in dance and build self-confidence. The first prize winner will receive RM 2,500 cash followed by RM1,500 for the 2nd prize and RM500 for the 3rd Prize winner.

The celebration will end with the Penang Golden 2012 Concert which will start from 9.00 pm 31st of December to 12.30am 1st of January 2012 at the Padang Esplanade. The concert will be featuring top local performers such as Bunkface, Azlan and the Typwriters, The Villianz , Aquilla and V Voice and many more. The concert will be hosted by radio station deejays KK and Myra from 988 and SuriaFM respectively.
