A HUNDRED cardboard giant rabbits will make their appearance at the Lantern Festival Carnival in the Maju Utama Business Park, Bukit Mertajam, Penang.
The 1m-tall rabbits decorated by multimedia graphic design students of Two Studio Multimedia Academy will be placed in front of a steamboat restaurant in Lorong Maju Utama 1 from 11am on Sunday.
The academy’s chief executive officer Unico De Ong said each rabbit was made of cutouts from 21 pieces of A3-sized cardboard.
The carnival is organised by the youth sections of Persatuan Hainan Seberang Prai, Pertubuhan Hakka Seberang Prai, Hung Kung Association Bukit Mertajam, Hokkien Hoay Kuan Province Wellesley and Persatuan Kwong Waai Siew Seberang Prai.
Hokkien Hoay Kuan Province Wellesley youth section chief Ooi Kee Chuan said other activities including cultural shows, a food fair and a lantern parade would also be held.
