In conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2016, the Chefs Association, Penang Chapter will be organizing to you the inaugural biennial Asia Food Festival (AFF) 2016, held from 18th to 21st of August 2016 at the newly refurbished Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SPICE).
Our theme for AFF 2016, “Celebrating Our Culinary Cultural Diversity”, also reflects Penang’s diverse cultural heritage of Chinese, Nyonya, Malay and Indian mix ethnicity that directly and greatly influences the range of local culinary delights. It also showcases some influence of our neighbours, in particular Thailand and Indonesia. This event is a conglomeration of several smaller events, trade exhibitions, culinary showcases, conferences, seminars, workshops and the International Showcase of Hospitality.
AFF 2016 is intended to exhibit and debut Penang to the Regional and International Trade especially the Hospitality and F&B fraternity. The Chefs Association of Penang intend to mark this as a “5 Star” event for the state of Penang and we although humble, take pride in managing to receive approval from the “World Association of Chefs Societies – WACS”.
